LESSON/PRINCIPLE

SALES METHODOLOGIES

  1. OLD SCHOOL
  • Passive:

The passive approach is the way of developing the business with traditional ways of advertising: e-mails, flyers, newspaper, bus benches, billboards, etc…

What is the problem with the passive approach to selling? We can’t count on the old school passive way of doing business. Why?

    • It takes too long to see the results
    • It is difficult to determine what works and what doesn’t
    • The market place becomes saturated
    • Usually we run out of money before seeing any results

  • Pro-Active (Old school)
    • Prospecting
    • Pre-qualifying
    • Following-up
    • Presenting
    • Handling objections
    • Closing

What is the problem with the pro-active approach to selling?

  • Too much work. “The goal is work to live not live to work”
  • It is not efficient:
    • It takes to much time. We all have 24 hours. Gates, Buffett and Trump have the same 365 days every year. It is not the time that we have, but what we do with the time we have that counts. Like Robert Kiyosaki says “The only difference between rich people and poor people is in how they use their time”. Hiring UK outsourcing human resources services will maximize the 24 hours you have to do other business tasks.
  • It is not a business is just a job: When you work one-on-one, one client at at time it is very difficult to scale from a job to a business. “Business owners can go on vacation because they own a system, not a job”- Michael Herber, Author of the E-Myth Revised
  • Social Impact: The social impact is very limited. The most important phrase I’ve learn in business is: “Nobody can become rich without enriching others”. The more limited your business reach the more difficult it is to help others, the more difficult it is to make money.

  1. THE NEW WAY TO GENERATE INCOME AND BUILD A BUSINESS

According to CEO.COM and the Harvard business review article, within 5 years social media will become one of the two most important forms of engagement with employees and customers, second only to face to face interactions” -CEO.com

Today we can build a business with:

  • $0 cost involved in the creation, content or production
  • $0 cost of distribution
  • $0 cost of marketing
  • No friction (A big one for real estate agents).
