hi orlando,
i have a few connectors, but this issue is that a lot of them already connect with other realtors as well. do you think that having bi-weekly contact with them is enough to get them value you more than the others? Since you say we don’t need a lot of connectors do you suggest that we take a handful and work with those, see how the relationship evolves and if nothing then attempt other connectors? -

With connectors is not about quantity but quality. You should not send more than one weekly e-mail to connectors. I found that having lunch or coffee (face to face interaction) with them every other week yields the highest result. Most of us don’t have more than 5 really good connectors so establishing a close relationship with them and keeping in touch is not difficult.
Remember, people do business with people the trust and SEE REGULARLY. You are right, your connectors know other agents. However the questions is….Who is building a stronger and closer relationship you or the other agents? Fortunately for you, most agents won’t take the time to consistently meet with connectors. They lack the discipline to keep in touch.
Now you have the advantage. Make it a point to meet, in person, with one connector every week. If you have 4 connectors you will get a face to face interaction every month. That is much more than most agents will do.

Good morning!!!
Orlando,
Would Chambers of Commerce, Community Associations, PTA’s, etc. be places where you can meet “potential connectors”? -

Yes, those are good places to meet connectors, but remember the key to success with connectors is nurturing the relationship in a consistent basis.
